Is this a Good church … the Right church?
By what standard does one determine whether a church is right or good?  If I am going by human opinion, mine is the one I want to follow!  But, what do I know?  What does anyone  know?
Clearly, the Lord’s opinion matters in this question.  His is the only one that really matters.  In Revelation, chapters two and three, we find seven messages from Jesus to seven different churches.  He compliments them, criticizes them and calls them to repent or change when things are not as they should be.  This helps us see what churches should be and do to be right and good.
Another good basis for assessment would be to look at the churches in the book of Acts.  Under the teaching and instruction of the apostles, churches were established throughout the 1st century world.  These records give us a picture of the church as it should be. There were problems, occasionally, but these were handled in a way to show us what should and should not be.
If you want to know what the Lord’s church should look like, what it should be doing and what its members are like, read Acts 2:40-47.  In this paragraph, you will find a simple picture of the church as it should be.  It does not answer every question but it is a foundation description of the true church of the Lord.
