Why am I studying the Bible?

What a great question to consider!  Do I study to prove that I am right and others wrong?  I may study for entertainment because the Bible is, truly, fascinating!  Maybe I study because I love history and it is the most reliable work of ancient history.  I could be studying out of curiosity. Do I read the Bible because I don’t know that much about it, even though I call myself a Christian?  There is merit in all these reasons.  The real reason to study the Bible is to know the will of God so that I can be conformed to His will and find eternal fellowship with Him.  This starts with the forgiveness of sins and continues in character growth.
